The brand of surf car you drove in the '70s was often decided before you were born... by your dad. Was he a Holden or a Ford man? Fords and Holdens were the mainstays back then with the odd ring in... a Valiant or VW. Whatever the make if it got you to the surf that's all that mattered. Other than the mandatory vinyl bench seats than got blistering hot and burnt your thighs, to classify as a classic surf car it had to be built before the '80s!
