Metalbirds are covert art!

 

The Black-Throated Finch is so adorable, it came as no surprise when it was crowned the 'Australian Bird of the Year 2019'. A fun fact not many know…both sexes share the load of incubating the eggs and feeding the cute little hatchlings once they arrive.

 

These colourful beauties are few in numbers and can only be found in Queensland, largely due to deforestation or modification of their natural habitat.

 

The bird is laser cut from 3mm Corten steel, which is designed to rust into a deep brown. The lovely rustic look and feel develops over time as it is exposed to the elements.

 

It can be easily hammered into most wooden structures.  Simply hammer the silhouette into the tree or for hard timber, you may need to pre-drill before hammering.
