Natural sponges are sustainable care products made from a natural raw material that grows back very quickly. They thrive in an environmentally friendly way on wide underwater fields in the Mediterranean Sea and are gently harvested twice a year. With a lot of manual work, a care product is created that nourishes the skin with the natural power of the sea and turns every bath into a sensual beauty ritual.

A family business with a fascination for the sea. The heart of the company beats in the depths of the sea. There, a good 40 metres below the water’s surface, natural sponges grow – a true miracle of nature. With their silk-like texture, they are durable, versatile, and extra gentle on the skin. Their story begins with the fascination for these living creatures: In 1897, Gustav Croll and Theodor Denecke decided to import raw natural sponges from the Greek Mediterranean to Bremen and refine them here by hand. They still do this today – but in the meantime they have expanded their product range to include sustainable spa and household products. They are Peter, Nina and Sara Hankiewicz, the third and fourth generation in the enterprise. Their mission: Sustainable skin and body care products with a good conscience and in harmony with nature.
